REVIEW: Though I’ve only watched 4 episodes, this historical drama has a definite appeal.  Park Seo Joon is already making me cry and fall in love with his character and the antics of Minho and V’s characters are just adorable.  There seems to be alot of back-story and it’s coming out more and more.  I would give it a solid 8/10 so far, and I hope it gets even better.  And I have to add that Kwang Soo did an AMAZING job for his short role!!!

REVIEW:  With only a couple of episodes left, I can honestly say this is probably my favorite medical drama so far.  The story is great, the romance is great, and is there anything better than a cranky but brilliant doctor (House, anyone?) that just kicks ass all the time?  The whole cast is doing a great job and though there is the expected assholes in charge trying to grind everyone down, there are little unique twists and turns that makes this story fantastic.  There have been one or two episodes that dragged a bit and could have done more, but overall this has been pretty solid.  I hope the ending wraps up nicely.

REVIEW: This is not a romance drama, this isn’t a melodrama, it’s more of a family style drama but better.  The main lead, Heo Jung Eun is one amazing little actress.  I can’t wait to see what she’s like in 10 years in an adult role!  Most of the cast is doing a great job, though a few have failed to make me believe them.  The story is unique and has some dark undertones to it.  I’m afraid it will be a sad ending, though I hope not.  It’s nearly finished and, so far, I’ve loved the story and the characters.  There has been plenty of heartstring pulling as well as laughs.

TITLE:  Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
NETWORK: MBC Wed & Thur
EPISODES: 16, Nov 16 – Jan 11

She has a bright personality and strong sense of justice. Kim Bok-Joo and her friends on the female weightlifting team are not popular with the guys and they don’t have boyfriends. The weightlifting team and the rhythmic gymnastic team also don’t get along at all.  Meanwhile, Jung Joon-Hyung (Nam Joo-Hyuk) is a collegiate swimmer plagued with numerous false start disqualifications. He is 21-years-old and has a free spirit. His uncle and aunt raised him along with his cousin Jung Jae-Yi (Lee Jae-Yoon).

REVIEW: I know this is a romantic comedy, and I completely love this drama, but I’m not sure if I can call it romance… it’s just too adorable and cheezy for that.  I’m completely loving the main leads, their interaction is fresh and clean when compared to the rest of kdramaland.  No rich heir who’s an ass, no poor girl in need of saving, but more of a typical boy and girl in college with typical college kid angst.  The story is well-paced and I’ve laughed most episodes until my sides hurt.  I seriously hope to see the actors more as so many will be going into military service soon.  These are the young ones that will be taking their place, and I’m really happy they are so good!

TITLE:  Legend of the Blue Sea
NETWORK: SBS Wed & Thur
EPISODES: 20, Nov 16 – Jan 25

During that evening, Mr. Yang shows Dam Ryung a captured mermaid named Sim Chung (Gianna Jun). Later that night, Dam Ryung releases her into the ocean and, before she swims away, Sim Chung reaches out her hand to Dam Ryung which he briefly holds.  In the present day, Joon-Jae (Lee Min-Ho) is a smooth-talking conman with magician-like abilities. He works with Nam-Doo (Lee Hee-Joon) and Tae-O (Shin Won-Ho). For their next score, Joon-Jae impersonates a prosecutor and swindles a large amount of money from a wealthy suspect’s mother. Joon-Jae then travels abroad and stays at an oceanside resort. Meanwhile, Sim Chung is swept up in a tidal wave and washed ashore near the oceanside resort. She sees Joon-Jae.

REVIEW: First, it’s Lee Min Ho and Jung Ji Hyun…. that should be all I need to say, but there’s so much more.  This drama’s writer also wrote My Love from Another Star and Producers, the director also did Master’s Sun and City Hunter.  All four dramas are some of my favorites, the actors are in my top 10, could it get any better?  Oh, yes, it’s a sci-fi/fantasy genre drama!  YES, it can get better!!!  Ok, enough with fangirling.  The story is very well written, the actors are amazing (duh) and even the unexpected cuteness of Shin Won Ho from Cross Gene is amazing.  I love the humor and the drama and the darkness of this show, almost enough to forgive the typical Kdrama tropes it has.  There’s a birth secret, the rich family syndrome with evil stepmom, amnesia (though in a new and unique way), etc.  All that aside, the merging of past lives with present and the quirkiness of Ji Hyun’s character (as only she can do) have made this a great drama to watch.  I’ll be sad to see it end, and not just because I won’t have new Lee Min Ho to see every week (sob).

REVIEW: I don’t typically do 50 episode dramas unless they have actors I really really want to see, or an amazing plot, but I ended up marathoning this one at about 28 episodes aired because of some twitter friends.  They kept commenting on this drama and it intrigued me.  It has some great comedy, some lovely moments, great seasoned actors and actresses, and cute romantic interactions with a few of the couples.  It’s not a mind-blowing drama, but it’s more like a family-style feel-good drama that’s nice to watch.

REVIEW: Again, while I don’t watch many weekend or 50 episode dramas (too family-style for me), this has MY COUPLE!  Kim So Eun and Song Jae Rim finally cast as leads together!!!  Yes, Solim couple fangirl, can’t help it.  Every since We Got Married and these two, I’ve not been the same.  This is a couple that was meant to be in real life, no question in my mind.  So I had to watch, and I’m glad I did.  Not only did they get their first real kiss (even if it’s just acting dammit), the drama is a good weekend drama.  It’s family-style but I am honestly enjoying the story of not only the Solim couple but the other relationships as well.  It’s nothing special (aside from Solim), but it’s done well, the acting is good, and so far only the mom of Gap Soon has driven me crazy (she almost always plays the same type of mom role and always drives me crazy).

I will do full reviews of most of these dramas at their completion, look forward to it 🙂 What dramas are you watching that you just love?  Do you hate something I loved?  Let me know in the comments!
